Start-up 040411

Start-Up:
Your rules for choosing what was and was not an animal are these:

Rule
An animal can walk on its own by itself and they eat what it choose to eat.
Gives birth or lays eggs; lives in the wild
      Has backbone and is warm-blooded
If it has 4 legs and is furry.
If it has eyes, mouth, or nose.
If it has organs, blood, teeth, 5 senses, skin cells
If it has skin, scales, or fur; if it has flesh or if it has an exoskeleton; if it reproduces
some animals don’t have organs, like mold.

Which rules do you think biologists use?

Conclusion:
Is a robin an animal? Explain.

Reflection:
Did your thinking about plants and animals get challenged at all today? Why do you think it did (or didn’t)?
